As a child growing up in Chagunda village that had no electricity, I used to be afraid when my mother sent me to another house either to pass the message or collect something, especially during the night. However, my mother used to get outside of the house and say, “Go my son, I’m watching you.” Just knowing that my mother was watching me as I strolled in the dark, all my fear vanished. Similarly, as we walk in this world darkened by sin, God our Father who does not slumber is saying, “Go, and be not afraid because I’m watching over you.” May I encourage you my brothers and sisters never to be afraid in this spiritual journey. God is watching over you and me. To be honest with you, events that are unfolding everyday in this world are life threatening. Looking at the artillery and the arsenal for mass destruction that nations are acquiring, makes you wonder what tomorrow will bring. Nevertheless, no need to panic, God is watching.
