Allow me to share with you the thought that crossed my mind today when I was meditating upon the fact that this world has many laws governing its people, yet lawlessness is the order of the day. I have come to a conclusion that it is a waste of time to continue making many laws with the purpose to bring sanity to the world. Too many laws have made the world become lawless because by nature humanity is at its best when laws are being broken. Laws are being broken at the same alarming rate they are being enacted. Many laws, yet many prisoners. Similarly, many churches yet many ungodly. Something must be wrong in our approach to the use of the law.
My personal suggestion is that it is high time to learn from God who does not require people to keep the His Law for them to be saved. However, those that are saved, reflect the character of God by living the life that is governed by the immutable Law of God. Furthermore, humanity alone cannot keep the Law, but by accepting Jesus as our savior the old self dies and the new life we live is attributed to Christ who Him alone has capacity to keep and fulfill the law. Therefore, when I go to heaven I will not say “I kept the Law of God faithfully” but I will say, “The blood of Jesus saved me by fulfilling what the law required.” Paul understood what I am sharing with you when he said, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me (Gal 2:20). Be freed by the love of Christ by surrendering your lives to Him and let Him be at the center of every decision that you make each and every day.
